INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS

Optimizing Team Performance in Times of Change

Using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) to help your teams perform at their best.

Duration: 1 to 2 days (depending on number of workshops)

This workshop series explores the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) and is intended to help your teams work together more effectively in times of change, and beyond, by focusing on 6 key areas: Introduction to Personality Types, Change, Team Building, Communication, Conflict, and Stress.

Helping team members understand their personality type through the MBTI® is the first step to working better as a team and fostering personal and professional growth. The MBTI® assessment helps individuals understand their strengths, their preferred working styles, and ultimately helps them see their potential. Used individually to provide self-awareness and clarity of purpose, the MBTI® assessment also helps create a better understanding and appreciation between team members and colleagues – enabling them to work better together.

The Ins and Outs of What Makes you Tick… or Ticked Off!

An introduction to how different personality types experience the world differently.

This workshop is an introduction to the concept of personality preferences, a description of the eight preferences and a review of participant MBTI® Reports as well as the various personality type reference descriptions.

In this workshop, each participant will gain a deeper understanding of how they, and others, experience the world differently. Participants will learn:

  • How they are energized
  • How they prefer to process information
  • How they make decisions
  • How they organize their world

Optimize the Way You Approach and Deal with Change.

How your personality can help you or hinder you.

We all experience change differently. Much of this difference is attributed to how we view change, based on our learning and past encounters with change. In addition, our inherent personality preferences in the way we experience the world will also have an impact on the way we cope with change and whether we welcome it or resist it.

In this workshop, each participant will gain a deeper understanding on how their personality affects the way they approach and manage change. Participants will:

  • Learn about the way we transition psychologically through change
  • Identify how personality type affects responses to change
  • Apply personality type to change implementation and management
  • Commit to applying type and change knowledge to optimize team and organizational transitions

Improve Team Communication.

Leveraging your understanding of Personality Types to communicate more effectively.

Learn type-based assumptions and expectations about the purpose of interactions, pace and content of conversations, and the results you are seeking from communications. The workshop provides insights and strategies for improving interactions and solving communication problems.

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Experience the communication differences of the MBTI® preferences
  • Identify verbal and non-verbal cues to each of the MBTI® preferences
  • Practice flexing their type style to meet the communication needs of others
  • Examine the influence of type on email communication
  • Commit to specific behavioural changes to optimize team communication

Leveraging Team Strengths for Success!

Capitalize on your strengths and those of your teammates to achieve the results you want.

People often focus on their shortfalls and those of others–this is hardly the way to build strong teams and gain the results you are after as an individual, team or organization. Recognizing and leveraging your strengths and the strengths of others is the first step in optimizing a team’s performance.

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Experience the differences of the MBTI® preferences
  • Analyze the potential strengths and challenges of the team’s type distribution
  • Experience the differences of the four “cores” of personality
  • Increase the understanding and appreciation of the various types represented on the team
  • Commit to specific behavioural changes to optimize team building

Manage Conflict for Win-Win!

View successful conflict resolution through the personality type lens.

At work, people don’t always get along. This workshop will focus on how our individual personality impacts how we perceive, react to, and handle conflict at work. Participants will learn how to help individuals, teams and leaders recognize their own conflict handling style, how they differ from others in this regard, and most importantly, how to react to conflict more effectively using the tools of Type.

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Analyze levels of conflict comfort
  • Identify type-related conflict areas
  • Discuss do’s and don’ts when dealing with conflict
  • Discover a type-related model for use in conflict situations
  • Commit to specific changes to optimize the team’s conflict management

Don’t Let Stress Get the Better of You.

How managing your own stress can benefit team performance.

Personality preferences not only help us identify sources of stress, but also what form our stress reactions take. Understanding the dynamic nature of personality type can help individuals and teams anticipate, prevent, and constructively mitigate stress at work through valuable insights and action plans.

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Explore the impact of stress on type
  • Discover the mechanics of how stress affects personality typ
