There’s a Transformational Journey in All of Us

BECOME WHAT YOU MUST

Amazing Happens through change

At 54, I stepped out of my comfort zone as a senior executive in the corporate world, obtained my licence as a psychologist, found a new voice as an author and international speaker, and became what I must.

My Journey

Dear reader,

My first experience with public speaking was a disaster I still remember to this day—I had, quite literally, wet my pants. I was a 7 year-old second grader quite nervous about reciting a poem in front of my characteristically unforgiving classmates and a teacher with a reputation for making you tremble in place. But it wasn’t just nervousness that led to that mishap still perfectly etched in my memory a half century later, it was the shyness and timidity of a young boy with very little self-confidence or self-esteem. I lived with the daily conviction that I was not as good or as smart as others–be it intellectually, physically, or otherwise.

How I can Help You Become What You Must

I deliver inspiring, informative and engaging keynotes and training seminars to individuals and organizations on change-related insights and strategies that inspire change and transformation so that organizations and individuals alike can become what they must—in other words, achieve their full potential. Throughout my inspiriting yet practical keynotes, seminars or workshops, I will help you INITIATE change, COPE with change, and LEAD change.

I do this by combining over 30 years of hands-on business and leadership experience, with my knowledge of psychology and individual and group behaviours in times of change, and with my accreditations as a change practitioner (World-renowned William Bridges and PROSCI change models).

I also have my own transformational model called D.A.R.E, which sheds light on the four psychological and behavioural change drivers, which I have been using in my practice to identify where people get stuck on the change journey and how to help them get unstuck!

Life after work can be emotionally draining

To some, this may seem like a silly problem. In fact, “many studies have shown that less than 20 per cent of individuals are passionate about their work and, for most, it is a relief when that part of their life is over,” says Hani Kafoury, a Westmount-based psychologist who specializes in assisting clients’ major life changes at Tranzition Consulting Services.

Prepare for emotional side of life after work

A friend of mine retired recently for about three weeks! He did not know what to do with his free time and panicked. While he had spent most of his working life planning financially for retirement, when he had finally reached his post-working life, he did not have a clue what to do with himself. He had left out one vital piece of his retirement plan how to fill his time while retired.
